Title: Expanding Meat’s Horizon: The Risk and Reward of Alternative Proteins

Description:

Across the emerging alternative proteins landscape, innovation and aspiration are staring down the realities of evolving consumer preferences, materials cost, regulation, and scalability challenges. Those stakes have created an incredibly dynamic moment for pioneers of the alternative proteins revolution that continue to grow and change. With the global demand for protein on the rise, more companies are seeking to commercialize new technology, and provide a more sustainable production of nutritious, delicious, and cost-effective proteins. With this upcoming revolution, there are great opportunities in the marketplace for innovation across the board from raw materials to production technology that can accelerate the trajectory of this space.  In this session, we will outline how opportunities in this space have evolved in the last two years. Specifically, we will detail how producers are approaching the precision fermentation and cultivated meat market. We will present data from a survey of 300 producers and show how the evolving regulatory environment and consumer demands have impacted capital spending plans.
